Went out shopping with mummy today..she was in her generous mood. however, me, being an idiot, didnt want to get anything cos i just didnt feel like getting anything.

mummy bought one shirt for us to share, and a scarf for my bro's friend.
so we were talking about relationships.
and mummy was talking about just being friends, keeping the friendship platonic. even if the other person goes into a relationship, keep the friendship, help each other through the times, and who knows one day, if you're meant be together, you'll be together, rather than jumping into a relationship right now.

like be friends. keep that friendship. dont just go into a relationship and then break up all relations with each other when things dont go well.

anyway, at 6.30pm, left for mummy's group concert thingy. was for some Filipino function. but yea i must say there were BAD audiences especially the fellow who decided to make a WHOOHAA when they group was performing.

like hello its a charity sort of thing, and they're not being paid. so just shut up and bear with it.

I saw on sunrise... an orange cake that takes about 5 mins to prepare.
well its true if you've got the amount of flour, sugar and butter all measured out already. well its supposed to be putting everything into a food processor and blending it all in, rather than hand mixing the butter egg and flour or by using an egg beater.
and well... ive got a really small food processor. and the blender just doesnt work like a food processor. anyway, i started around 9.30am... ended at 11.45pm. HAHA well since i had a small food processor everything took longer cos i had to break it into sections.
and then since the self raising flour was from a new bag, i had to take it and put some of it into a container.

HOWEVER, the bag decided to break so half way i was running around the house looking for containers.
then was running around the house looking for an egg beater cos i was getting annoyed... however, came across an old food processor that was larger than the one i was using so i took it. LOL

so finally... the cake went into the oven.. mean while i got a call from bavani.. then called my CUTE binbin for 20 mins before i had to hang up cos my cake was done!

it was a bit cracked at the top but it was good... used the icing to cover it up in the end. looks like a BIG donut from the top eh.. well the icing didnt 'drip' as nicely as i thought it would... oh well. =D

well i dunno what it tastes like cos im just going to leave it for tonight.

I took this yesterday cos i was shit bored while doing my essay. LOL

I have come to realize that doing 200 crunches at one go to start a self workout regime is not good. and doing air chair for about 3 mins and going up and down from airchair position to standing for the duration of 7 pages of paper to be printed on a slow printer is just way way way too much, considering that ive not been doing exercise.

during the morning while i was sleeping, i could feel my leg muscles hurting, and each time i moved around my upper abdominal muscles hurt like madness...

so i decided to kill myself again by doing 20 sit ups, 200 crunches and air chair for about 3 mins and going up and down (i have no idea what that exercise is called so yea) for the duration of me brushing my teeth.

doing the 20 sit ups was hell... its not going up thats the problem.. is going back down to starting position. but decided to still do the 200 crunches that was really really painful and doing the airchair (simply lifting my butt about 1inch away from the chair itself) while surfing the net. LOL im so going to have major leg and abdominal pain tomorrow. haha

well strangely enough i ironed clothes this morning.. wanted to iron my nursing uniform but was thinking, well since im at it my as well iron the rest of the stuff. BUT i forgot to iron clothes that were on the drying rack (they're dry already) so daddy is not ironing them. LOL i can still remember the first time i ironed (about 8 yo) i burned my favorite nightie. it was silk.. haha and it BURNED... melted right onto the iron. LOL obviously i threw it away, tried to get the burnt material off from the iron, and act like it never happened. cos i wasnt supposed to be touching the iron in the first place. haha =P

Ive been feeling so tired lately... like my body just aches when i wake up... and over the weekend i just kept waking at around 6.30am, and kept waking up like every half hour from there... monday wasnt too bad cos i woke up at 6.45am. but today... again... this time waking at 4am. then at 6.30,then at 7.30, 8, then finally at 8.30. its as though my brain is telling me WAKE UP WAKE UP but my body just becomes so stiff and tired.

oh well mayb its just the cold...

had sinus probs the whole freaking morning.. sneeze, then runny nose, to congested nose.. then sneeze, runny nose, then congestion. sneeze runny congestion. luckily i wore 3 layers when i went out fishing today. 1 short sleeve shirt and 1 jumper (from sjc) and a jacket. trust me it was FREEZING. hooking myself seems to have become second nature to me already... the hook just goes everywhere.. jacket, shirt, finger, jeans, finger....

im tired today... tired now.. my intercostal muscles are aching... half my butt is aching... my freaking neck is still aching from donkey years ago... wonder what else is going to ache tomorrow.

whee.... one day after my prac ended. so its back to slacking around the house and playing dynasty warriors instead of studying. LOL

well i slept at around 1040pm last nite... switched on the heater for once cos thought it'll be a cold night...

1am: woke up, tore off my jumper, switched off the heater, turned on the fan and went to the toilet. went back to sleep immediately.
6.30am: woke up...had abit of trouble going back to sleep.
7.30am: woke up. heard loopy scratching his box so i let him out.. went back to sleep.
8am: woke up. rolled around in bed until i went back to sleep.
8.30am: woke up to vulgar ring tone. sent a msg saying 'WAKE UP!!!'

lol well, helped make breakfast of egg, bacon, sausage, toast and coffee. i had left over soup from thurs as well.
then went surfed the net for a short while before going to play dw... and at 2pm i started on my RFN essay! its about 10% done cos its all in point form. oh well. thats better than nothing rite? haha
2ml morning mummy and daddy are going to mandurah, for mummy's performance. lol well i'll accompany my bro to church tomorrow and yawn away.

well daddy asked me if i wanted to work in perth or go back to singapore to work. he says that if i work here in australia, it'll be easy for me to earn around $60k per year. and if i go back to singapore it'll just be about $25k-35k. it'll definitely be better for me to build up my financial status here in australia. i can also get my PR if we really dont end up getting it. i told him that i would rather go back to singapore to work cos i'll be happier there and cos i dont like my hard earned money to get deducted as tax to pay bums and sows. but then again, i did think of working in australia for a few years as i guess it'll be easier for me to get a job straightaway after i graduate cos im guessing Curtin will be organising things for us (career fairs etc) and since ive been studying in aust i know what the aussie legislations are etc. and YES the pay is tempting despite bums and sows.

oh well.. i guess we'll just have to wait and see. daddy knows the REAL reason why i wanna go back anyway. LOL but YES, i have considered working in australia for awhile. maybe for 5 years? get the experience first. then decide later... by the time i graduate and by the time i work for 5 years, i'll be 27 years old. LOL time to settle down!

LAST DAY OF PRAC!!!!

im happy and sad... but mostly happy. haha happy that im GONE.... sad that im not going to see those residents and staff again(except for one).

well i sorta like one of the new ladies that came in.. she has been here for 40 years plus but has been in singapore for i think 2 decades. she knows the word 'makan'!! haha how cute. i like her.

anyway, there has been a carer at the nursing home that has sort of been giving us (Pei, Lauren, Jing, and me) the shits. * She shall be K from now on in my blog *

like she would just grab one of us and make us do a shower while she walks off and does something else. and apparently thats what she did with Pei. asked her to shower while she went off somewhere else. like, number 1, she asks us rudely. number 2, ive helped her before and she doesnt say thanks. number 3, she complained to margaret about Pei refusing to shower a client. WTF??!!

so today she was doing the same, thing, giving us the shits. like we're student nurses and we ARE allowed to have 2 student showering one client. but NO... K comes around and tells Pei off for having 2 people shower her resident. WTF.. and then she goes off and asks Lauren if she can shower by herself, of which she replied yes. K then said 'well thats not what i just heard.' in a sarcastic manner. and apparently, while Jing was doing her physical assessment with Margaret, that girl went to talk to Margaret again... Margaret then said that we are still students and we might feel more comfortable to be showering with a friend.

Lauren Pei and I then went to the hostel cos we cant be fcuked showering anymore people for K (while Jing was doing her assessment). and when we went back, we went around looking for Jing. and we found her showering a resident.. so we went in for a chat... of which, after 2 mins K came around, opened the door and demanded a reason as to why there were 4 of us showering one resident.

K: *frowns at us* you dont need so many people to shower a resident. you only need ONE
Me: (rather pissed off already) we are students and we are allowed to have 2 students showering one resident
K: Thats not what i heard. ive already spoken to your lecturer
Me: but we have all been told by our tutor that we ARE allowed to cos we ARE students.
K: Then why are there 4 of you here?
Me: cos we only just came in for a chat
K: RITE... i need one of you to help me
Me: what do you want and how many of us do you need
K: just one.

SO off i went with her.. and apparently she just needed help putting a resident from bed to the shower chair. RITE. after i helped her, i walked back to the shower room that had Jing Pei and Lauren. and since there was that bed to make, i got Pei to help me with making up the bed. (totally didnt bother looking at her or waiting to listen to her ask me to shower that resident)

like whatever bitch.. im not going to do your bloody work for you. we have been warned about carers like you and we know that we CAN refuse.. we're there to learn. not to do your work.

bloody hell.. seriously.. if that carer came and pissed me off one more time i'll just tell her that we have a choice of what we want to do because we are students, here to learn, lend a helping hand, and WE'RE NOT GETTING PAID TO DO YOUR JOB.

anyway, after that the 4 of us joined the OT to do some games and stuff for the residents, which was pretty fun. and after a debriefing with Margaret (who said that people like that carer are part and parcel of working life), we went to help with lunch. well i walked from the top lounge, down to the 2nd lounge, down to dementia ward, and all the way back to the top lounge to find something to do cos most of the residents that needed feeding are getting fed. so i just went to the top lounge to help around and clear the plates and trays and help cut food for some of the residents.

and then came K... standing around staring into space while the other carers were busying around getting food to the residents etc. then while i just allocated a plate to become the rubbish plate, i just started putting the fork and knives onto another plate, and scooped all the dirt into that rubbish plate. (cos that K just dumped all the left over food from one plate all over forks and knives)

anyway, another carer came along and told me that i was really hardworking, and that i should speak to the manager if i would like to get a job there. LOL right infront of K. and then she proceeded and told K to go collect the dirty plates and give the residents their sweets, since she was just standing there looking pretty blur.

Pei and Jing were there as well, and Pei asked me what the carer said... so i told her that the carer asked me to ask the manager if i would like to work here. Pei then says 'YOU sure you wanna work here??' lol then i replied :' Yea i dont mind working here.. i'll be nicer and TAKE over HER job.'

and when i turned around, i saw that K was there keeping some stuff. WHATEVER... i said it pretty loudly summore... Pei and Jing just laughed and said that i was cool. (cool??? erhhh) anyway, continued keeping the stuff, and then helped the carers bring the residents back down to the first lounge. the carer that asked me to get a job then told me to get a few residents down when they've finished, of which i complied quite happily. and then after bringing a male resident down, she asked me to get a standing hoist, which i happily complied to again (COS she asked me nicely) and while i was going to get the standing hoist, i heard her tell her buddy carer that i was good as i listen to her instructions. LOL rite.. i guess its only cos im super happy cos after lunch we could go! YAY! haha

anyway i think i MIGHT drop in my resume with the manager.. besides.. i know the code to get in. but i doubt i'll need to since i'll go there later in the day when the receptionist is around. and it'll be after my exams. LOL so see how first. LOL i like that place... only that its spoilt by that carer. lol

btw, during tea time, when us students and most of the staff were having our tea, apparently K was having tea BY herself on her own.. and we noticed that most of the carers are quite happy and talk to each other and help each other. BUT with K, most of the time, she's by herself. and so most of the time ends up grabbing one of us to do her work. but i guess mayb it IS her attitude that no one else likes. cos no one else seems to be talking to her.

well i just really really cant give a shit about washing any other resident other than mine cos its just too much work i reckon. LOL but yea.... IF its a nice carer, i'll do it for them. IF NOT, forget it. dont assume that just cos im there i'll do it. Like hello.... give me a choice between feeding a resident lunch and showering one... OBVIOUSLY FEED!! im sure that you know that as well.. not like im getting paid for it as well anyway..

8 days is just TOO long... we're helping the carers with their work. and they're getting paid. we're not. we're pretty much PAYING them to go on these pracs, with out ridiculously priced school fees.

Here's another edition of my boring day at my clinical prac...

well this morning was one hell of a cold... went to the nursing home, did our usual hand over thingy, then asked margaret if she would like me to get my resident ready for my assessment.

so i went to have a chat with my resident..

'I dont want to get out of bed or have a wash until after breakfast. its too cold.'

so i told margaret that, and she said we'll just have to do the assessment after my medical round which would be around morning tea time. OKAY... so off i went, looking for people to help.

well basically Lauren, Pei and I were just bumming around walking here and there, trying our best to avoid showers. LOL 3 people making one bed! haha what a joke. anyway this morning was a really slow one. everyone didnt want to get out of bed! well i dont blame them... its so freaking cold and the bloody heaters aint on. wonder if the place even has any heaters in the first place. LOL

anyway, saw Jing, and realized Margaret told her that she's got her medical rounds... which would be the same time as mine. so i asked Jing to go ask margaret and check with her, as i was with Pei feeding one resident (slacking as usual - BUT i was holding the empty bowl) anyway after feeding that client, i saw that Jing apparently hadnt asked Margaret about the medication rounds. Like WTH?? so i had to go look for Margaret and sort things out myself. and apparently Margaret just kept thinking that im Jing. (must be the LING on my yueling. LOL)

so after doing everything, i just waited for Jing's medication round to be done...but after that, instead of getting me, Margaret got another girl instead, to do a simple wound dressing. LOL like okay... when's my turn... but yea i stayed around Margaret so that i can get my assessment done ASAP.

and FINALLY... Margaret goes and asks me to get ready for my assessment. YAY! well since my resident had recently dislocated a shoulder, and has a fractured Right pubic rami (at the pelvis) and 2 broken ankles, Margaret asked me to modify it, and so i basically just did neck, jaw, left arm and toes. i just described the rest, like what i would to if I were to be doing a proper assessment. LOL and i passed! WHEEEEEE (i think...lol i didnt hear her say if i passed.. just that i did good. LOL)

so tomorrow im doing my medical rounds... must remember the 6 rights..

well, its day 5 of my clinical prac...

same old routine..

showered my resident from like 30mins (mayb longer who knows who cares).

she had her bowels open this morning. want a description? lol

then helped out with morning breakfast, then walked around until about 9.45, before i was called by a carer and asked to help her with a resident. well that resident had a suppository in the morning and shit all over the night pads and onto the bed. had to do a full bed change. anyway, i knew the carer was going to ask me to wash her as well but i told her i had to go for morning tea but i'll just do up the bed. LOL SMELLY BUSINESS!!!

after our morning tea break, we just went to study up for our physical assessment. mine was due at 1.30pm. went around the usual business of helping to feed residents at 11.45, then at 12.30 we went and had our own lunch. i had rice, kimchee, ikanbilis, canned salmon with mayo, and some chicken meat. (what a mix)

and then, it was time for my assessment. off i went and picked out musculoskeletal assessment (something that i wanted to do! yay!) which was something different from the three girls before me.....they all had posterior lung assessment! LOL oh well.... then we went to my residents room... and found her sleeping... snoring away happily... LOL so, my assessment got postponed to tomorrow morning. then margaret went around looking for other residents... and found that all of them were playing BINGO! WOW... so margaret decided to let us all go early.

anyway there were 2 new residents.... replacing the ones that died.. one on friday, one on sunday. both were in palliative care. oh well... worst part was that one of the new residents, that came on sunday night, was dropped off only with her nighting gown. full stop. no other clothes. so after she had a shower in the morning, a student had to go to the laundry to look for a dress. best part was, at around 9.20am, Lauren Pei and I found that resident sitting on the chair in the lounge with a summer dress on with no stockings anything. not even a cardigan. like hello? the poor lady was shivering away. and since she didnt have anything we had to look for spare cardigans and a blanket for her. HORRIBLE to just leave her at the home without any warm clothes.

lol so im back home now...suffering from a splitting headache that is absolutely making me feel as though my brains are being put into liquid nitrogen.
have to fill in clinical form still though.... brain... pain... splitting in two... arrrgghhhh.....

its SATURDAY!!!! first day that i havent have to wake up at 6am to go for clinical.. LOL well im a sleepy head.. went to sleep at around 8.40pm last nite.

got up at around 8.20am this morning cos of loopy scratching to come out, then went to watch tv and have breakfast.

anyway, later at 1pm uncle bernard, aunty rosalina and uncle henry and mayb his wife are coming over for lunch. LOL i have not much intension of eating together with them... incase uncle bernard or daddy goes 'WAH! LAUKUAH (pespiring)'. lol i just hate that... yucky yucky. LOL either i eat super fast or just ignore them... haha

advice to all.. DO NOT RUB NOSE OR EYES AFTER CUTTING CHILLI!!!!!! even if your hands aint stinging... doesnt mean that the acid wont affect other parts of you. LOL

hmmmmm something wrong with my msn... everything just bounced back... and after i typed something else, no reply... dunno whats going on. LOL people seem to be popping online as per normal but dunno why what im typing just gets bounced. weird ass msn. LOL

Today was pretty good....

Margaret helped me with washing my resident as i didnt know if she wanted a bed bath or a bath in the shower... and my resident was ONE grumpy lady in the morning as she wanted to wee but no one was helping her cos she was going to get a shower soon.

anyway, after choosing her clothes (that took me a long while to find out what she wants) , margaret and i gave her a wash and then dressed her up etc... after her i did up one bed, then went to help with breakfast, before doing up another bed and then giving a wash to another lady that shared the same room as my resident. i washed her on my own! wheee im so happy with myself... when a carer came to assist me with getting the resident to stand (she needed a standing hoist), and after the carer checked her groin area, she applied some cream and proceeded to put the pad on. however, when putting the pad on, i noticed some blood on the pad... the carer then check the lady and found she had a little skin tear but that it didnt really matter. so we just dressed up the lady and brought her into the dining room for lunch.

we were told to report any cases of skin tears etc so i didnt know what to do so i asked margaret, who said i should tell the RN and record it down. but since i didnt know where to record the skin tear, i just told the RN about the skin tear, and asked the carer if she would record it down. and she said yes so yea...

anyway after that, i chatted to my resident for quite a bit, gathering information for the client profile that needs to be handed in by tuesday. we then had tea, and then we just did somemore of our client profile things and clinical forms until 15 to 12pm, where we had to go help out with lunch, as per usual.

well this time round i fed a lady in the dementia area.... was abit late at feeding her cos was walking to the other wing of the building to see if i could feed anyone else... anyway, took a LONG while to feed this lady as she kept using her tongue to push the spoon out of her mouth.. which means she only took a small little bit of food from the spoon... which was a bit annoying... and she kept cleaning her teeth with her tongue after each small bite so yea... took 30mins to feed her. LOL

lunch time was an interesting one, watching how Pei and Jeff would 'fight' with each other. cant imagine if they were husband and wife. LOL then after lunch, Margaret came, and told us that 'we are going to leave early today cos its friday'. after doing our little handover, we were told to continue doing our clinical forms for about 30mins more... but yea rite... we were mostly just day dreaming... lol and listening to pei and jeff bicker. anyway, after about 35mins we started wandering off, looking for Margaret to ask her if we could go.... after about 5 mins, we finally found her and we went home... and that was like 10mins to 2pm. LOL siok sia.. hahahaha

well i'll be doing either my simple wound assessment or medication assessment next tues, as well as my physical assessment on tues. a lot of things to study now! lol

woke up at 6am to a beep... vulgar alarm didnt go off cos i didnt put the mmcard back into the phone properly.

anyway, left the house 1 min later than yest, and parked next to a pillar hoping no one will double park behind me again. well, after our morning hand over, margaret told me she parked behind my car.

well anyway, off we went, doing showers... i was sort of assigned to assist Sonia (carer) with showers or bed baths. did total of 2 showers and 1 bed bath, and then it was tea time, then finally went to give my resident a bath. LOL one carer was expecting me to wash my resident on my own... like erhhhhh RITE no confidence yet? well another carer came and i assisted with the shower..

so yea.. did the same thing as yesterday... walked around, did up lots of beds (made me start to think that i was working in a hotel or motel), showered, fed, washed hands, showered, assisted with hoisting, walked around, all the way until tea time (today our tea came LOADS faster than yesterday). anyway, off we went to tea, then sat down to do our client profile.... i wanted to have an interview with my resident but she had a visitor.. so i left them alone together.

at 11.45, we went around to feed people... today i got a gentleman who was a breeze to feed. and seriously, their food just smells yummy... and their dessert! looks so nice!! LOL then we did our normal stuffs of having lunch then sitting and doing our clinical forms. LOL

saw a peg feed and administration of morphine.

well at least i didnt screw up my back like i did yesterday... it was just the wrong position to feed the lady with dementia with... my back was twisted and leaning over just to feed the resident with my right hand (the resident was on my left). oh well.... next time, get a chair, or attempt to feed with left hand.

ive got my simple wound assessment tomorrow... then my physical assessment on tuesday. random pick. LOL i think musculo-skeletal assessment would be the EASIEST... neurological i really have to read on that again. cos thats quite hard to do. just anything but neurological i guess.... cos of certain reasons regarding my resident that i must not disclose in order to protect her privacy. LOL

oh well... dead tired again... still have neck muscle strains... now plus back muscle strains. LOL ive become an old lady myself! haha =P

Woke up at 5.45am.

washed up, dilly dallied around in my room until about 6.20am before i left. (will be waking up at 6am from now on) and reached the home at about 15 to 7am. which was about nearly the same time everyone else came. anyway, parked the car, sort of 'broke' into the agency cos at the main sliding doors there is a security code but apparently we were all looking when staff were keying in the number to come in from outside so yea. anyway, we placed all of our stuff at the staff room on top of the lockers and went for our hand over at the nurses' station.

had our briefing, and margaret (tutor) then took each one of us to meet with our residents and to help out with showering etc. since lauren's and my residents were still asleep, margaret asked us to go make up some beds cos there were some clients out of their beds and going into showers already. so we made up a few beds, asked a carer, Ken (asian dude) if we could help with anything.. and since he was just finishing up with showering one client, he asked us to help put his clothes on. after doing that, lauren and i proceeded with folding up a few more beds until it was breakfast, and we were asked to feed some residents who ate in their beds and needed help to eat.

i had a nice lady whom i had to prompt by opening my mouth and going AHHHH!!!!! good girl.... but i had quite a hard time understanding what she was trying to say.. she said she was 'lost in thought' but it took me quite awhile to understand what she was talking about... anyway, after feeding her i went to keep the stuff back, and then asked margaret for something to do... she then intro-ed me to my resident, and then we went back out again. i then asked her who's the carer caring for my resident cos i wanted to experience a shower or bed bath. by the time i found that carer, she asked me to do something before she disappeared. then when i found her again, she just asked me to make up a bed before she disappeared again. by the time i found her, she was giving a sponge bath to a resident in palliative care. (having basic needs such as some nutrition, and hygiene and pressure management cos person is going to heaven soon)

anyway, the carer was finishing up with the sponge bath... everything was quite alright until she turned the resident onto her left, exposing the HUGE sacral *butt area* pressure wound. and it stank like anything. it was just TOTALLY offensive... anyway i decided to do some shallow breathing but the smell lasted only a short while... i dunno... mayb i got used to it. anyway, continued with assisting with putting on the clothes...

anyway, after that my carer kept disappearing and i was just making beds and helping out with some manual handling (using hoists to lift residents off bed off chair into chair etc) and bringing the clients out into the garden for a special morning tea for mother's day. well, one resident refused to go outside into the garden with the rest. and i helped with hoisting another resident that a carer was just getting up from the bed in order to put the resident onto the commode. i think the resident had only peed, but that stench was just horrific.. i dont know. it seemed so much worse than the pressure ulcer odor.... so bad to the point i nearly gagged. BUT i managed to hold it in. anyway, went away since Jing, another student, volunteered to do the bed.

well, after getting most of the residents out into the garden, we had a tea break. it was only 10am but i was already tired. that was the longest 3 hours ever. after tea we went upstairs into a little tutorial room for a short tutorial on skin integrity (she really didnt teach us much) and then we filled in our clinical forms..

at 11.45am we headed out of the room to help with lunch.

lauren and i were asked to go to the dementia ward and feed to residents in the same room. they were pretty easy to feed... Lauren's resident kept talking away.... which would be quite hard for me cos i wont say anything much. well my resident just woken up and i just fed her quietly... she didnt talk or anything. so i just went AHHHHH!!!!!!! and opened my mouth, at which she did. feeding her was quite alright...only thing is that after i fed her i forgot to put the bed rails back up. after helping to keep all the kitchen ware, we had our lunch at 12.20pm, until 1pm, when we went down, and out into the garden, to start taking down client data again.

ANYWAY. thats all for my clinical prac day 2. super tired after that shift. but i guess it'll get better tomorrow. i hope i get to assist in proper washing and bed baths... since i didnt really see much of the sponging one.

i miss my lau hentai baboon. LOL =P

I was supposed to blog this yesterday but was too tired.... just sat on my chair and half chatted away....

well, left house at 7.23am, brought my brother to school, and reached the place at 8.10am. Its at bateman!

well, we had our introduction to the place, brought around and orientated...

we had our own morning tea, where we were allocated to our residents. so pretty much the whole day we were collecting information from the files that we were allowed to see, to put in the resident's health history.

then at lunch time, we helped feed food to residents that require assistance in feeding.. well i didnt get to feed anyone cos everyone else was being fed already *food smells yummy*

really have to be patient... have to cater to them... just have to be slowwww..... and encourage and prompt them to open their mouths... have to cue from their facial expressions or sound they make, to see if they want to eat their dessert or drink their juice etc.

after feeding them, we had our own lunch..... too bad i only brought biscuits. not exactly very appetizing. anyway, we went back to writing notes after lunch, only to ask my tutor something and she deciding that i needed a change of residents because my resident is known to be rather resistive. and bedbound. not exactly good for physical assessments..

at 3pm we had our manual handling course form the physio, and at 10 to 4pm we were all allowed to go home. before i went home i was told that i'll have another resident allocated to me but will intro me and let me read her file the next day.

nothing too eventful. missed him lots.

went to school for RFN tutorial today... then went to subway to bum around and talk with les until it was 10 to 2pm... (i have already quit subway but yet im still working for them! getting lettuce, sauce, capsicum.... well i got paid in chicken fillets and cookies. LOL)

missed the bus so waited another 20mins for next bus to come

everything in the bus was rattling as it went. and strangely the sound sounded really nice to me.

went to carousel, popped by at Valley Girl... bought 1 shirt and a navy blue pants for my clinical attachment. total: $39.

then walked ALL the way to kmart to look for some panties... and bloody hell... they're so expensive!! 3 pairs for $20! shit expensive.. should have gone to target to take a look but oh well already at the other end of carousel... went to pet magic, saw loopy junior (though loopy looks so much cuter) and bought a pair of piercing earrings from ICE..... time to pierce my ear!! again!!! well after clinical prac..

anyway, heard from les that midland military markets burned down on sunday... which explains the strong smell of smoke at around 12pm.i feel so sad for all the animals that got burnt alive... cos apparently theres a pet shop there. poor animals.... they were meant to be sold and live happily in some family... not get burnt to death when they're not even 1 year old. its just sad....

the smell of smoke carrying the cries of all these animals while they burnt to death. hell... pet shops should not keep pets in their shops. like end of the day, bring them home. like cats or dogs, or rabbits! who cares about the fish.. they can stay in the shop. BUT the others... bring them home.... keep them separate from the building.. they're just animals but they still have souls... i cant imagine that happening to loopy... so for me, if theres a fire in the hosue, FIRST thing i will do is take loopy and put him into the car. then take the fish and whatever i want and my parent's impt docs and then drive off. but loopy goes into the car first.
